OUR STORY

th (3).jpg

Our story started in February of 2016 when three deputies of the Park County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a shoot out with an armed individual. During this shoot out one deputy sustained non-life threating wounds, one critically wounded, and one tragically succumbed to his injuries. At this moment as a community, we realized that we need to support our first responders.

The founders of the Responder Relief Foundation saw an opportunity to create a non-profit organization to support and recognize the challenges that first responders and their families face everyday. Our goal is to raise money to support the needs of the families and first responders who have been critically injured or succumbed to their injuries. During the last few years, the foundation has realized that first responders do not only suffer while they are on duty, but also outside of their jobs with PTSD and high rates of suicide.
